Ways to help and get involved

Key requirements

Volunteers must be 18 and over.

On-site volunteer shifts are a regular commitment.

Work is physically and mentally demanding, so core volunteers must be fit and in good health.

CENTRE VOLUNTEERS

Wildlife rehabilitation work minimises human contact with patients. Handling is only for essential patient care by competent staff and trained volunteers. To keep our patients wild, human contact is kept to an absolute minimum.

Volunteer tasks are mainly cleaning, feeding, scrubbing & washing. Jobs can be indoors or outdoors and vary throughout the year.

Regular work parties for bigger projects, such as building new enclosures, painting and decorating, will be announced as and when required.

Please complete the Volunteer Application Form below and we will be in touch as soon as possible.

TRANSPORT VOLUNTEERS

Transport volunteers are the vital link between wild patients and the help they need, as some finders are unable to transport the animal to our centre in Brora. We are unable to collect these animals as we are already busy looking after patients on-site. Transport volunteers fill a critical role by safely relaying patients from A to B.  Some journeys involve several transport volunteers working together.

Transport volunteers must be available via WhatsApp for ease of coordination.

Please complete the Volunteer Application Form below and we will be in touch as soon as possible.
